For a good chunk of the winter, the Backcountry team is holed up researching, writing, editing and skiing from our chosen snowy homes in Vermont, Idaho, B.C. and beyond. But as the publishing season comes to an end, we bring our trusted voice from the page to the pavement (well, really the skintrack) with Backcountry BASECAMP in a series of free, weekend-long events featuring gear demos, avalanche clinics, guided tours and more.
Attend the 11th annual Backcountry BASECAMP, presented by Scott Sports and Flylow, at a tour stop near you! Schedule and details below.
Stop 6: Wild Corn Backcountry Shindig, King Pine, Madison, NH
Friday, April 5 – Sunday, April 7
After a few months on the road, our BASECAMP rig is heading home. Currently, its somewhere in the Midwest, but the destination is Granite Backcountry Alliance’s Wild Corn Festival, where we’ll be partying at New Hampshire’s King Pine Resort April 5-7.
This event isn’t your average BASECAMP stop. We’ll still have the free educational clinics (courtesy of Northeast Mountaineering) and, along with the usual demos from Scott and Atomic, brands will have their touring fleets ready for testing (full list here). But this three-day backcountry bender also offers daily live music, yoga, scavenger hunts, speed puzzling and more. All the proceeds go to support Graniteland, the Granite Backcountry Alliance’s network of below-tree line glades.
For the full schedule and to buy tickets, visit granitebackcountryalliance.org/wildcorn. Grab a buddy, sign up for the transition rodeo and limber up for the dance party.
We’ll see you at the Cornhole Tournament!
