Winter Wildlands Alliance 20th Annual Backcountry Film Fest

On October 24, the 20th annual Winter Wildlands Alliance Backcountry Film Festival will be premiering in Boise, Idaho. This year’s films were selected from 320+ submissions for being the best stories of human-powered backcountry adventure.

Winter Wildlands Alliance (WWA) is a national nonprofit organization whose work focuses on engaging people in the fight to protect America’s wild, snowy landscapes. Their initiatives include SnowSchool, an educational program that introduces roughly 35,000 kids to snow science and how to better understand their watershed. The Backcountry Film Festival is a key fundraiser for this program. Each year, the tour raises over $200,000 to support local SnowSchool sites, human-powered recreation, conservation efforts and avalanche/safety programs.

Following the tour’s Boise premier, the Backcountry Film Festival will be screened across the country and world. Check out the full list of tour locations here. For a sneak peek, check out the trailer below. Tickets can be purchased here.
