Tecnica Zero G Tour Pro Boots

Introduced last year, returning unchanged and once again earning an Editors’ Choice Award, the Zero G Tour Pro is Tecnica’s answer to an aggressive alpine-style boot that can also speed up a skintrack, with a solid 130 flex and generous 55-degree walk-mode range.

“The top-of-the-line walk mode paired with downhill performance and fit comparable to resort boots sets this boot apart.”

“The top-of-the-line walk mode paired with downhill performance and fit comparable to resort boots sets this boot apart,” one tester said, summarizing the Tour Pro’s modus operandi. Another appreciated the 130 flex-rated Grilamid/carbon shell’s stature, noting, “Cuff is tall—great fore/aft progressive flex and lateral stiffness.” The Tour Pro netted high marks for stiffness and performance, with one tester praising the substantial power delivered by this 5.8 lb. lightweight. “This boot is a near-perfect blend of race boot and running shoe,” he said. Another added, “Light enough for the sidecountry and burly enough for inbounds.” To deliver that power, the Tour Pro employs the same overlap design on the upper cuff as in Tecnica’s race boots. A 35 mm-wide power strap helps to add extra oomph, and thin, wire buckles save on weight while providing four-buckle security. One tester griped about their minimalist design, however, describing the buckles as “hard to attach.” But another was unfazed, claiming, “It’s the holy grail for big skiers who want to ski hard.”
