Winter Wildlands Alliance 21st Annual Backcountry Film Festival

On November 6, the 21st annual Winter Wildlands Alliance Backcountry Film Festival (BCFF) will be premiering in Boise, Idaho. Selected from hundreds of submissions, the films showcase evocative, inspirational stories of human-powered backcountry adventure.

Winter Wildlands Alliance (WWA) is a national nonprofit organization that works to keep America’s snowy, natural landscapes wild. In doing so, WWA protects valuable water sources and backcountry ski zones and introduces the next generation of advocates, environmentalists and skiers to the magic of winter. Their initiatives include SnowSchool, an experiential education program that introduces over 35,000 youth each year to snow science and watershed understanding. The Backcountry Film Festival is a key fundraiser for this program, supporting local SnowSchool sites, human-powered recreation, conservation efforts and avalanche safety programs.

Following the tour’s premiere, the films will be screened around the world through March 2026. The tour map and schedule is filling up—check out the full list of tour locations here to find a screening near you.
