Last March, our testers tried the best skis, boards, boots, bindings and apparel that we could get our hands on at our 13th annual Gear Test Week. After months of working remotely from our basements, guest bedrooms and kitchen counters to compile those reviews, our editors are ready to reveal the top picks to help you get remote on the skintrack with 34 Editors’ Choice awards.
In the 2021 Gear Guide, you’ll find a wide range of gear for everyone from the first-time backcountry user to the seasoned veteran looking to update those 20-year-old bindings, with 121 unbiased reviews from our team of 43 testers—ranging in age from 15 to 52 and hailing from Vermont to California and everywhere in between. No matter what your style and experience level, we’ve got the latest to take you farther this winter.

It is sad to see that Telemark equipment is completely left/ignored in your Gear Guide.
I would have thought that “the editors” had a broader outlook on back country skiing.
Hi Paul, while we didn’t have any telemark gear win an Editors’ Choice Award this season, we did include telemark bindings in our Gear Guide. We strongly believe that telemark skiing is alive and well! #freetheheelfreethemind
Will your magazine and the gear guide be available digitaly?
Yes, we offer digital subscriptions at https://backcountrymagazine.com/subscribe/
I missed the chart in the back of previous Gear Guide editions which made it very easy to compare weights, stats, prices, etc.
