Tested and Reviewed

Tester Mike Rosenberg likes “tight lines, chutes, trees, steeps…technical stuff that requires thinking out a good line choice.” Because of this, he favors gear that is downhill oriented and doesn’t mind a little extra weight if that means he can shred harder.

Here is his review of the Dynastar Cham 97 2.0:

OVERALL SCORE: 10/10
BEST FOR: Inbounds, Lift-Accessed Touring, Straight-Up Touring
BEST SPEED: Slow, Medium, Fast
RESPONSIVENESS: 10/10
PLAYFULNESS: 10/10
DAMPNESS: 10/10
SHORT TURNS: 10/10
MEDIUM TURNS: 10/10
HARD SNOW PERFORMANCE: 8/10

Comments: “The 2.0 is much improved over the 1.0. They are effortless to initiate and incredibly fun turn to turn. This ski held an edge on the boilerplate just as well as it navigated the bony, tough spots. They are definitely light enough to tour on, however some might find them a bit heavy—but it is more than worth it to have a little extra weight in exchange for the dampness and stability. These are a buttery-smooth multitool that I’d pack for every adventure short of a full-blown nor’easter.”
