Voilé Hyper v6 Skis

Last season, Voilé injected their skis with a special sauce that elevated the line to another level. The new recipe goes by the name Hyper, a fitting moniker given the energy dividends these lightened skis now offer. In the case of the Hyper V6, that’s a 15-percent weight savings—more than enough to take another lap.

“I’d take these on a multiday hut trip, a packed-powder groomer and everywhere in between,” one said. “One of the most capable, versatile skis of the test.”

How’d Voilé lighten their already notoriously feathery skis? By replacing their trusted aspen core with paulownia and completing the layup with more carbon than before. Made in Salt Lake City, Utah, all Voilé skis also employ cap construction, increasingly a rarity but most common among weight-conscious boards, including their non-Hyper counterparts, all of which remain available.

Voilé positions the Hyper V6 as surfier than the comparably spec’d HyperVector, a ski of similar dimension but with less rocker and more effective edge. That led testers to widely consider this ski’s applicability in deep and shallow conditions alike. “I’d take these on a multiday hut trip, a packed-powder groomer and everywhere in between,” one said. “One of the most capable, versatile skis of the test.”

She wasn’t the only skier to commend the V6’s versatility. “It does everything well and nothing half-assed,” another commented. “Skis big when you need it in pow, but short and quick when you don’t in firmer conditions,” a third added. The lone gripe, echoed by a few testers? “They’ll chatter on hardpack,” according to one.

But a sizeable cohort of testers agreed with the bottom line of our tech editor, who wrote the following: “The Hyper V6 is arguably the best one-ski bc quiver.”
