Whiteout conditions transitioned to bluebird skis on Tuesday, day 2 of Gear Test Week. Powder Mountain was blanketed with a fresh coating of white overnight and testers were rearing to hit the slopes at the start of the day. Fat skis were the name of the game with all of the powder that is this Wasatch Mountain’s namesake.
From bell to bell, skiers worked their way through the 2017 powder ski lineup, from narrower skis measuring 105-millimeters to the behemoth Fat-ypus with the sizable girth of 139 millimeters underfoot. To wrangle these powder broncos were boots that were made for walking, but also a lot of shredding.
Tomorrow is forecasted to bring more sunny skies, bringing the opportunity for testers to work on reviews and goggle tans.
