Backcountry Basecamp 2020

Backcountry Magazine has teamed up with our title sponsors Scott Sports, Nokian Tyres and Whistlepig Whiskey to bring our basecamp tour online for its last stop. You can follow along now in our Instagram Stories. We’re also running a massive raffle through our website to benefit Catamount Trails Association.

Celebrating its 25th year, Backcountry Magazine continues a commitment to safety that’s helped build its reputation as a leading source for backcountry etiquette and education, from the page to the mountains, since 1994.

Now in its seventh year, Backcountry BASECAMP teams up for winter 2020 with Scott Sports, Nokian Tyres and WhistlePig to showcase the latest in gear and safety at resorts across North America. This winter, the lineup is better than ever, with a completely redesigned setup and experience that’s scheduled to visit seven resorts in six states: Vermont, California, Washington, Utah, Wyoming and Colorado.

Join our editors at the following locations for on-mountain learning and activities, including demos, avalanche education, guided tours and a huge raffle to benefit a nonprofit that’s local to each tour stop—all hosted alongside guides, forecasters, AIARE instructors and gear experts.

Backcountry BASECAMP is made possible thanks to the support of WhistlePig, Scott Sports, Nokian Tyres, Atomic, Leki, Intuition, Ortovox, Osprey, American Alpine Club, Arva, Winter Wildlands Alliance, 22 Designs, Good To-Go, Skida, Alpine Start Coffee, Gnarly Nutrition, POMOCA, Thule and Truck Gloves.

Raffle supporters include Scott Sports, Nokian Tyres, Atomic, Leki, Intuition, Ortovox, Osprey, American Alpine Club, 22 Designs, Good To-Go, Truck Gloves, Skida, Gnarly Nutrition, Pomoca, Thule and Alpine Start.
